The independent pharmacist Sami Soltan, founder and CEO of AIRIX, seeks to maximize and facilitate access to the new powers granted to the OPQ. 


Herpes labialis (cold sores)

Herpes labialis is characterized by the onset of small yet painful blisters, commonly known as cold sores, on or around the lips and nostrils, and in the mouth. The first occurrence of symptoms is usually in childhood.



The uterus, which is part of the female reproductive system, is where the foetus develops. The uterine wall is lined with a membrane called endometrium or endometrial tissue. In response to female hormones, the endometrium thickens every month in preparation for possible pregnancy. If pregnancy does not occur, the built up lining is shed during the menstrual period.



Hypoglycemia occurs when blood glucose (sugar in your blood) levels drop below normal. The term hypoglycemia usually refers to a reading on the glucose meter (device that measures blood glucose) that is less than 4 mmol/L.

Venous insufficiency is a condition in which the blood does not flow normally up through the veins in the legs towards the heart.

Regurgitation and Gastroesophageal Reflux in Infants

Regurgitation, also known as spitting up, is quite common in infants. It is usually caused by immature muscles in the digestive tract. Unlike gastroesophageal reflux (GER), which can be or become a health problem, spitting up is not painful and does not have any repercussions on the child's health.



Though they can be quite impressive, nosebleeds are generally harmless. Young children and the elderly are most at risk for suffering from this type of haemorrhage, also known as epistaxis.



Snoring is the sound produced by the vibration of the soft palate and the uvula. Although snoring may not necessarily disturb the snorer, it can certainly have a detrimental effect on those around him as the noise emitted can, on occasion, be compared to that of a truck. Furthermore, snoring can be indicative of other problems such as sleep apnea or a deviated septum. It should not be taken too lightly.
